*Painting OFF-SITE is allowed, but you must follow online rules and regulations; no assistance artists allowed.
There is a set time and schedule. Please follow the schedule.

You will have a small table, so make sure to condense your kit

Must use FDA-compliant products

Must take breaks for model safety

All headdresses, props, and special FX products are allowed. You are allowed to paint all ahead of time.

Stencils and tattoo paper are allowed

Please be prepared to talk about your artwork on stage while the model walks

NO PAINTING NO TOUCHUPS ALLOWED AFTER TIME IS UP

You are allowed to do touchups after judging for photos only​​

ONLINE RULES
Painting assistants are NOT allowed for the Online Category. The participant must work alone!
There is no fixed starting time or day.- It is up to you when exactly you start, but you must complete the artwork within 8 hours on a specific day from now till June 24, 2026.

We give extra time for online categories, so you can easily handle photos, live streams, etc.
Please include your pictures and attach a short explanation of your work/idea (max. 300 words, in English ONLY). Email pictures to TheHoustonBodyPaintCompetition@gmail.com.

The winners will be announced on June 26, 2026.

Required Photos with Submission:
13 (thirteen) Photos must be included.
6 (six) pictures of the process must be taken regularly throughout your competition time of 8 hours.
The first picture is at the beginning of the competition, and the last is at the very end.

You'll also be required to submit 7 (seven) extra photos for the judging process after the painting is completed. Please use the guidelines below for your submission.
IMPORTANT!! Rules for the photos:

Take the jury photos against a black background.
Photograph your model's entire body for each image.

(1) from the front,
-
(2) from behind,
-
(3) from the left, and
-
(4) from the right
​
In addition, we need close-ups of:

(5) the upper body from the front
-
(6) the upper body from behind
-
Finally, the last image (7) is the artist and model together.

Please follow this format:

JPG ONLY and not compressed (NO Camera RAW, NO TIFF, NO PNG, NO GIF, etc.)

Only photos without retouching will be judged! Retouched photos will not be judged, but we are happy to receive them and share them on our channels later.

Helpful Tips for New Body Painters

Set a timer while painting to stay are aware of time.

Practice your body painting several times before the competition

Use a kabuki brush for your base work for faster coverage. Or airbrush.

Print out your work ahead of time so you're not holding your phone
-
Step back when painting to make sure you can see elements from a distance
-
Competition is such a useful way to gauge yourself and learn from other artists.
